Contemporary Nutcracker: A Fairy Tale for the Modern WorldConservatory of Dance
The ballet follows the same general story line as the original but with
a uniquely different twist. The magical updated version portrays Klara
as a homeless orphan girl who discovers the true meaning of the season: "that it is not important to give something material, but to give what is in your heart and soul." Following
her journey through a magical Kingdom which includes dancers from Africa,
China, Mexico, America, Turkey, and France, Klara is adopted by the
Sugar Plum Fairy and Nutcracker Prince and her life becomes complete.

Christmas Concert – Home for the HolidaysSouth Bend Symphony Orchestra
Our ever-popular Holiday Concert welcomes back Diane Penning, again bringing

The South Bend High School Festival Choir, composed of members of all
four local high schools, joins her for a holiday afternoon that promises
