eSavers for November 13 - November 19, 2008

Contemporary Nutcracker: A Fairy Tale for the Modern World

Conservatory of Dance

The ballet follows the same general story line as the original but with a uniquely different twist. The magical updated version portrays Klara as a homeless orphan girl who discovers the true meaning of the season: "that it is not important to give something material, but to give what is in your heart and soul." Following her journey through a magical Kingdom which includes dancers from Africa, China, Mexico, America, Turkey, and France, Klara is adopted by the Sugar Plum Fairy and Nutcracker Prince and her life becomes complete.

A Wonderful Life

Amish Acres

Based on the classic Frank Capra film starring Jimmy Stewart, the musical's story closely follows the original movie plot. Set in 1946, George Baily is a distraught man whose guardian angel, Clarence, reveals to him how different the world and everyone whose life he has touched would be had he never been born. The power of love, family, friends, the lesson of redemption and the spirit of Christmas make this the perfect Holiday musical for the whole family.
